The Annual Hunt Ball will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012. There will be a stirrup cup, a live band, dinner, dancing, a silent auction and the annual wine auction.

The proceeds of the hunt ball go to feed the hounds. There are a few things that you can do to help us make this year’s ball better than ever.

1. Save the date. Invitations will be coming out in early January but you can mark your calendars today. It will be a lovely night and not to be missed.

2. Invite your friends. Think about friends who would enjoy a formal black tie ball with an equestrian theme. The more people attending the ball, the more fun we will all have. If you think of anyone else who should receive an invitation, please reach out to If you don’t have an address, don’t worry, we can find them.

3. Donate to the Silent Auction. Hunt themed art and household items, new tack, and one of a kind experiences are all great items to donate to the Hunt Ball. Consider your hobbies and interests. Are there things you could donate. For example:

·   Do you own a cabin? Would you be able to donate a weekend getaway?

·   Do you have a professional skill that others might want access to?
You could donate tax help or horse training?

·   Do you have a boat? Consider a sailing or boating excursion.

·   Do you fly airplanes? How about an afternoon flying in a small plane.

·   Do you have a talent? Handmade jewelry, artwork or pottery on a hunting or horse jumping theme. Perhaps you can write a song and perform it for someone’s anniversary or cook a special dinner.

·   How about an extra guest or use of your large trailer for next year’s Iowa hunt?

If you have items, or can help provide one of a kind experiences, please contact either Lisa Lieder ( or Kimberly Carlson ( to let us know. We will be reaching out to all members to recruit donations over the next few weeks.

Thank you so much for a great year. Help us kick off the 2012 season in grand style.
